Derek Zimmerman is a musician based in Los Angeles, California. Derek is passionate about inspiring, educating, and entertaining through music.

Derek received his bachelor's degree in music performance with a minor in business administration at Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois, and is completed a Master's Degree in Music Performance at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. Derek is currently continuing his education at the University of Southern California by pursuing a Doctoral of Musical arts Degree in tuba performance 

Derek is the bandleader of the Funk Sauce Brass Band that creates high energy covers of pop, rock, and New Orleans music. Derek has also performed with a variety of groups such as the California Young Artist Symphony, LA Marching Band, Chicago Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Heartland Festival Orchestra, Chicago Brass Band,

The Tubazimm YouTube channel is where Derek creates tuba covers, instructional videos, and live streams aimed at creating a community through music. 

As an educator, Derek is experienced in teaching brass private lessons, coaching ensembles, assisting in music camps, and using various form of technology in music.
